Oxford University Disowns Nigerian Head of “UK’s Smartest Family”
UK’s oldest university, Oxford University has denied links with Chris Imafidon, whose family is reputed to be the smartest in the United Kingdom.
Imafidon has been described across local and international media channels as a Professor at Oxford University or as a professor of University of Oxford (Keble College). Oxford University has 38 colleges affiliated to it, including Keble College.
But the university’s Media Relations Manager and News and Information Office denied this when contacted, The Punch reported.
According to the report, the university’s Media Relations Manager, Dr. Julia Paolitto, said Chris Imafidon was not affiliated to the university or any of its departments or colleges. The News and Information Office which handles enquiries for the institution reechoed Paolitto’s statement.
The newspaper had earlier published an interview where Imafidon claimed to have overcome autism, a learning disability, to become, according to his LinkedIn profile, “professor, adviser to governments, monarchs, & leaders, keynote speaker and Chair, Excellence in Education.” The newspaper said the interview raised concerns among members of the public, which appeared to have elicited an investigation.
Chris Imafidon is the father of Anne-Marie, Christina, and twins Peter and Paula, who have broken many academic records in the United Kingdom. Anne-Marie Imafidon is an alumna of Keble College, Oxford University.
